FAQs
Can you provide me with more information about NatureBridge?
NatureBridge has a series of FAQ’s to help answer any and all questions about your time with us. For a quick rundown, please read their FAQ.
Why did you two choose to have your wedding at NatureBridge?
We chose NatureBridge not just because it’s a beautiful spot on Lake Crescent, but because of what it stands for. NatureBridge provides hands-on environmental science programs to more than 700 schools and 30,000 students every year, helping young people from all kinds of communities connect with the outdoors. By celebrating here, we get to support that mission.
NatureBridge is also a partner of the National Park Service, working to protect and preserve the incredible natural and cultural resources of our parks for future generations.
It feels meaningful to us that our wedding is not only in such a stunning place, but also helping sustain the work that keeps it—and places like it—thriving for years to come.
What will the weekend look like?
We will release a more detailed schedule for our weekend soon - in the meantime, here is a sample wedding schedule provided by the venue. This will be close to the schedule we will use (with more fun things to do than a typical rehearsal dinner).
What should I plan to wear/bring and what’s the vibe?
For the wedding ceremony, we aren’t going to be requiring tuxes or gowns. In short, expect an evening of being in grassy fields, on a rocky shoreline, around a campfire and dancing on hardwood floors. It will be rustic, but elegant and festive.
It is highly unlikely that there will be rain. However, you can expect mixtures of sun (bring sunscreen), clouds, wind, and many times all three. Daytime temperatures can be in the mid-60’s, and at night it will be damp and in the low 50’s. Please dress accordingly!
It’s also important to know that Lake Crescent at this time of year is dangerous to swim in unless you are comfortable cold-plunging or have a wetsuit due the spring thaw in the mountains. IT IS NOT ADVISABLE TO SWIM AT THIS TIME OF YEAR.
Any rules/laws/extras we need to know about?
While cannabis is legal in Washington State, we are technically in the Olympic National Park and under federal jurisdiction. Please be discreet.
As the event is being held in the Olympic National Park, we are asking you to leave your dogs/animals at home for the weekend (unless you require a registered service animal).
No tent camping or RV’s at NatureBridge. There are other locations for camping or parking your RV in the region and some examples can be found on our LODGING page.
Helpful reminder that we will be in a remote location with limited access to medical care. This region can sometimes have intermittent power outages as well as spotty cell service. Please keep this in mind when traveling and enjoying the weekend!
